On an unrelated note, I was wondering if there is a way to handle the puck in NHL 09. For example, if the puck is in the air, is there a way in which you can bring it down to the ice using your hands?

Not that I know of. Though sometimes players do things just because the situation's right. Check out this deke where my player kicks the puck past the D:

That was pretty cool. I guess some of those features are just contextual like you said.
The reason I asked was because I watched the NHL 09 review on gametrailers yesterday, and it showed a player bringing the puck down with his hand at one point in the video, so I was interested to know whether or not it was user controlled.
