EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT NHL 12

In NHL 09 the curve shot was considered a glitchy way of scoring. What you did was to pull the puck over to the forehand side while skating in the direction of the backhand side, and then shot a wrister, aiming at the near post.

As you can see this resulted in the puck moving in a curve, thus it was dubbed the curve shot.

Now EA has fixed this glitch, but the idea of pulling the puck over to the forehand side while moving in the other direction is still useful when taking a shot, and it's something you see players do in real life too, especially when the goalies sight is obscured by players between him and the puck. It won't be a hard wrister but if you time the shot right the goalie won't se the puck until it's too late and by pulling the puck over to the forehand side, you will get the puck through on the side of the defender instead of trying to get the puck through between his legs.

I'm sorry I can't show you a longer clip but I exported the video from an online highlight and, as you know, you can't extend videos beyond the start and ending points of the highlight (EA should give you 2 extra seconds in the beginning of each highlight).

Here's another example of what you can achieve just by moving in the right way with the puck pulled out on the forehand side.
